The Eye of Agamotto
The Eye of Agamotto was a comic book store at 340 S. State St, upstairs. It was run by Norm Harris until 1986 and is now closed.
- By 1972, “The Eye of Agomotto” had opened up in Ann Arbor, MI on State Street. A non-descript doorway, wedged between two shops on the street, the stairway behind it led up two flights of stairs to a wonderous place where they had nothing but comics for sale.
- Harris' passion for art and originality persisted after graduation and a 12-month deployment to Vietnam. He worked a series of odd jobs in Ann Arbor before taking employment at Curious Books, a used-book store that also carried comics "to pull in the student crowd." In 1974, the owner decided to close and Harris bought the store to sell comic books exclusively.
